Client: Arts Smart
Designer: Cameron Heights high school students in collaboration with Two Smiths
Location: Cameron Heights High School, Kitchener, ON
Materials: Steel, copper.
Scope of Project: In collaboration with teacher Erin Ledlow and her students, Two Smiths facilitated the design and making of a wall-mounted Holocaust Memorial that was permanently installed at Cameron Heights High School. In the centre are two hands; one is bare and the other is a protective helping hand, which is represented by the gauntlet. This gesture is encircled by a wreath of laurel leaves. Each leaf in the wreath contains a symbol and name of an WW2 upstander that was researched by the students. The images and words are etched into the surface of the copper.
