Forged Leaf
Blacksmithing: Level 1
This 1 day course is perfect for anyone who has always wanted to try blacksmithing!
We will teach you several fundamental forging techniques as we lead you step-by-step through the process of using a hammer to shape hot steel into natural leaf forms.
You can then decide how to further transform that leaf into a small decorative or functional item.
The finished objects will be treated with hot beeswax.
No previous metalworking or drawing experience is necessary. All that’s required is a sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn!
Class runs from 9am-5pm Saturday with a 1h lunch. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes, a cotton or wool shirt and long pants.
