Concept
This design is based on the grand piano in the teaching studio that opens up to the floor blow. The copper bars represent the piano strings that are fixed to the stainless steel frame with “tuning pegs”. The intention was to visually capture a vibrating wave of sound.
Engineering
This railing was designed and built to code. None of the openings are smaller than one inch and none larger than four inches. Each copper bar is different and all parts of this railing were forged and shaped by hand.
